In April 2018, Yemen was recognized by the UN as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Airstrikes, armed clashes and attacks on civilian infrastructures, including food production and distribution zones, and blockades preventing food, medicine and fuel from entering Yemen’s ports are affecting more than 17 million lives.

Y30,  an organization created by Yemenite youth and dedicated to ensuring a prosperous future for Yemen, has partnered with local community restaurants to ensure that disadvantaged communities, including widows, orphans and households without any means of sustenance, have access to at least one nutritious meal a day.

With funding from the Trafigura Foundation, in 2021 Y30 has provided support to two community restaurants and a local bakery in the al-Musaik and al-Maharik districts of Sana’a, feeding more than 7,000 people every day for two months.
