UNLTD Indonesia, Indonesia

In partnership with the local incubator UnLtd Indonesia, we are supporting the rise of a selected portfolio of 25 social entrepreneurs.

In the past 10 years, social enterprises in Indonesia have grown exponentially. Notwithstanding this fever for social ventures, a lack of impact investing prevents Indonesian entrepreneurs from developing, growing and scaling up their businesses. UnLtd Indonesia was established in 2014 to fill this gap. Our partner helps social entrepreneurs transform their innovative ideas in successful business ventures able to advance positive change.

Inspired by the model and experience of UnLtd UK, an incubator for social enterprises, UnLtd Indonesia has already trained 27 early-stage social enterprises and in 2018, in partnership with the Trafigura Foundation, it has incubated a further 23 social ventures.

Over a 6-month incubation process, UnLtd Indonesia leads entrepreneurs through a programme organised in three stages: education, engagement and exposure.

  • The education phase is focused on delivering business management, administration and financial knowledge to support entrepreneurs in the start-up and development stage of their ventures. This includes training in leadership development, impact planning and measurement, product development, marketing, financial management, business planning and investment readiness.
  • The engagement stage provides entrepreneurs with professional guidance from dedicated experts through one-to-one mentoring and peer support from successful social entrepreneurs.
  • The last step, exposure, provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to participate in key networking events where entrepreneurs can build their network with corporations, media, potential funders and the general public.
