Certis is a non-profit skills development, employability and training centre. It has a particular focus on the long-term unemployed.
CERTIS joined the Trafigura Foundation’s portfolio of programmes in 2013, brought to our attention by Maximilian Tomei, an employee from within the Trafigura Group. With CERTIS, we are supporting a pioneering programme in Geneva, 'Carrefour Formation et Emploi' (CFE), which aims to return people who have been unemployed for a long time to the regular job market.
CFE is currently the only employability project available to the long-term unemployed in Geneva. It has been commended for its high re-employment rates. The programme supports job-seekers through motivational and professional placement services, and for some it places emphasis on resolving social issues and on vocational training.
CERTIS collaborates with a network of specialist partners including a global recruitment firm, the Workers' University of Geneva and the Red Cross, to help prospective employees secure and retain permanent jobs.
